"Welcome to the White Cliffs Motorboat and Yacht Club web site. You are assured of a warm welcome at the White Cliffs Motor Boat and Yacht Club. Affiliated to the RYA, the Club's members are either yacht or motorboat owners or are otherwise interested in or connected with sailing or boating. The club was established in 2001 to promote all sailing and motorboat activities and to provide members with the opportunity of contact and interaction. New members and visitors are always welcome. |

The club has no premises of its own and hence we are able to limit the charge for membership at a relatively nominal amount. It uses as its main base Cullins Yard, a marina side restaurant and bar overlooking the Wellington Dock behind the seafront. The restaurant/bar is ideally set with great "marine" ambience. There and at other chosen venues we seek to combine our enjoyment of boating with a good social scene. Apart from organised events we have put in place arrangements whereby participating members have the means of communicating with each other as to their impending plans on the water so that all those interested can take part in a joint activity as they wish and without any pressure to do so. In addition, the club arranges harbour races, cruises and other races and waterborne events. Off the water, the season starts with a fitting out supper and ends with a laying up dinner and then a Christmas meal, all three of which have proved very popular with our members and their friends. During the "season" members may if they wish join cruises in company and day and overnight trips (longer if desired) along the English, French, Belgian and Dutch coasts. Off-season, our objective is to organise a variety of shore based activities such as general club nights, talks, quiz nights etc. We also facilitate visits to venues and functions concerned with marine activities in and around Dover. For further information contact the Club Secretary." Garry DohertyCommodore |
